Sade Adu<\/strong>\u00a0is returning to the music scene at last.<\/p>\n

The 65-year-old music icon is set to contribute to a new compilation called\u00a0Transa<\/em><\/strong>, produced by Red Hot in support of the transgender and nonbinary communities, with a song called\u00a0\u201cYoung Lion,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0dedicated to her trans son\u00a0Izaak<\/strong>\u00a0and his journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou must have felt so alone, I should have known,\u201d\u00a0Sade<\/strong>\u00a0reportedly sings on the track via\u00a0Dazed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to hear a legendary musician like\u00a0Sade<\/strong>\u00a0sing about her heartfelt experience as the parent of a trans child,\u201d says album co-producer\u00a0Massima Bell<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The album, out November 20, is reported to feature over 100 artists across 46 tracks and eight chapters, which is a nod to the eight stripes on the Pride flag.\u00a0Sam Smith<\/strong>,\u00a0Andr\u00e9 3000<\/strong>\u00a0and many more artists will be featured on the compilation.<\/p>\n

Red Hot was originally founded back in 1989 amid the AIDS epidemic, releasing the Red Hot + Blue compilation album with acts like\u00a0Annie Lennox<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0U2<\/strong>, selling over a million copies worldwide and raising over $1 million for AIDS charity ACT UP.<\/p>\n

Red Hot executive director\u00a0Dust Reid<\/strong>\u00a0says\u00a0Transa<\/em>\u00a0was inspired by the tragic death of\u00a0SOPHIE<\/strong>\u00a0in 2021, and the compilation celebrates the \u201cgifts that trans people have been giving to the world. We hoped to create a narrative that positions trans and non-binary people as leaders in our society insofar as the deep inner work they do to affirm who they are in our current climate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sade<\/strong>\u2018s last release was 2018\u2032s \u201cFlowers of the Universe\u201d for\u00a0A Wrinkle in Time<\/em>.<\/p>\n
