Now in news about completely fictional scenarios, Michael Sweet recently said that he wanted either\u00a0Ozzy Osbourne\u00a0or\u00a0Rob Halford\u00a0to induct\u00a0Stryper\u00a0into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the extremely unlikely scenario that they\u2019re ever actually inducted in. At that point you just might as well say you want Lemmy Kilmister to do it, because that\u2019s about as likely as any of the rest of this.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with radio station\u00a094.9 and 104.5 The Pick<\/a>\u00a0in Idaho Falls, Idaho (that was transcribed by\u00a0Blabbermouth<\/em>), Sweet was asked who he would want to induct Stryper into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame if that were to ever happen:<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, man. I would love something really different and controversial, like, Lord willing, if he\u2019s here long enough, someone like Ozzy Osbourne. I mean, it would just be different. Or [JUDAS] PRIEST[\u2018s] Rob Halford. He\u2019s a big inspiration of mine. But never say never, I guess. And I\u2019m not shooting myself in the foot, but I just can\u2019t see that ever happening. I mean, you see how hard it is for bands like FOREIGNER to get inducted. Can you imagine STRYPER? Well, it would be unreal. That would be a miracle and miracles do happen. But, yeah, it would take a lot to see that happen. But I will say this, and I say this as humbly as I possibly can, why not? We\u2019ve earned our spot like any other band. Do we have to wait another 10 years? Maybe. Another 20 years? Maybe. But we\u2019ve got gold and platinum albums and we\u2019ve broken barriers and broken down walls and accomplished things that have never been accomplished. So why not?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019m really glad that Sweet isn\u2019t getting his hopes up because, well, that seems like a really unlikely scenario. Even if Stryper were ever nominated, I can\u2019t imagine them winning a vote, especially since fans\u2019 votes are taken into account. Besides, if Stryper were inducted before Mot\u00f6rhead, I\u2019m pretty sure there\u2019d be a riot in Cleveland.<\/p>\n
