Alabama completed the flip of four-star Michigan recruit Ivan Taylor on Monday night, securing a major defensive commitment in the latter stages of the 2025 cycle.<\/p>\n
Taylor, a 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back from Winter Garden, Florida, is ESPN’s fifth-ranked cornerback in the 2025 class and 50th in the 2025 ESPN 300. He joins the Crimson Tide as the sixth-ranked member of Kalen DeBoer’s inaugural class, which already includes three ESPN 300 cornerback recruits.<\/p>\n
Taylor changed his pledge to Michigan from Notre Dame in July, making him the second-ranked member of the 2025 class. However, Taylor maintained contact with Alabama throughout the autumn, including a visit to the Crimson Tide on September 28, and he is currently the 14th top-300 pledge in the nation’s top-ranked class.<\/p>\n
“Happy to announce my commitment to the University of Alabama,” Taylor wrote in a social media post Monday night. “I’m grateful for the chance, and I’m excited to play for Coach DeBoer and his staff. “Roll tide!”<\/p>\n
Taylor becomes the third top-15 cornerback commit in Alabama’s incoming class, behind four-star defenders Dijon Lee Jr. (No. 32 in the ESPN 300) and Chuck McDonald III.<\/p>\n
His commitment follows a week of recruiting losses for Alabama, including ESPN 300 promises from wide receiver Caleb Cunningham (Ole Miss flip), running back Anthony Rogers (uncommitted), and linebacker Dawson Merritt (Nebraska flip).<\/p>\n
Alabama faces Oklahoma in Week 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.<\/p>\n
