Their resolution to overtly share their beliefs through their big and boisterous sound has made them one of the most acclaimed faith-based Metal acts out there. Their ability to share a powerful and positive message while still being aggressive has been an impressive feat throughout their career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Even after forty years of showcasing their remarkable resilience and cunning craftsmanship, this veteran act proves they still have more to offer. The Californian quartet is getting ready to release their twelfth studio album,\u00a0When We Were Kings\u00a0<\/i>(Frontiers Music s.r.l.<\/b>), and they prove why they are still significant in the scene.<\/p>\n

Strident strings are struck on the opening number, \u201cEnd Of Days\u201d and an instant classic vibe is felt. A lot of the numbers including \u201cLove Symphony,\u201d \u201cRhyme Of Time,\u201d and \u201cDivided By Design\u201d all bite with colossally crunchy and rotund riffs. The thick, edgy guitar work stands up front and dominates a lot of each piece.<\/p>\n

There is a moxy in the bottom end and a real groove on songs \u201cUnforgivable\u201d and \u201cWhen We Were Kings.\u201d This band hits hard with hearty heat coming from each player.\u00a0Michael Sweet<\/b>\u2019s powerhouse vocals do not disappoint as he delivers lyrics full of hope with an alluring vibrato and determined crooning. He can still hit the high notes and when he showcases his falsetto it amps up the songs to a new level of energy.<\/p>\n
