Comedian Matt Rife has been a Netflix star and internet superstar for some time, but he shot to fame in Rhode Island this year after pulling off two daring stunts:<\/p>\n

While the proprietor of the notorious Burrillville haunted house was embroiled in controversy, he purchased a residential property situated on a reservoir in North Smithfield and even made a notional offer to purchase The Conjuring House.<\/p>\n

But what should we expect from the 29-year-old this coming year?<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has launched his nationwide Stay Golden Tour, which will close the year Dec. 31 at Boston’s TD Garden. The tour, which includes some dates in Canada, hits spots such as Honolulu, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit and Kansas City, plus two shows in New York’s Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

Was Matt Rife going to buy The Conjuring House?<\/h2>\n

The idea that Rife might have made an offer to buy The Conjuring House wasn’t completely out of left field. In 2023, he spent a night in the house, some of it alone, to make\u00a0a video for friend Elton Castee’s YouTube channel, “Overnight.”<\/p>\n

But, after\u00a0Castee let the world know on the X social media site that he and Rife were willing to buy the troubled property, owner Jacqueline Nun\u0303ez told The Providence Journal that\u00a0she wasn’t interested in selling it to anyone, particularly Rife.<\/p>\n

Rife had a comedy special,\u00a0“Natural Selection,”\u00a0on Netflix last year and has\u00a0appeared on MTV’s “Wild ‘n Out.”\u00a0He is originally from Ohio but lives primarily in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
