\"\"Christone \u201cKingfish\u201d Ingram has been racking up accolades for a live album that captures the 25-year-old blues guitarist at his shredding, smoldering best.<\/p>\n

Ingram recorded \u201cLive from London\u201d at a memorable sold-out show at London\u2019s Garage venue on June 6, 2023. Fans can hear Ingram play guitar and sing alongside Christopher Black on drums, Paul Rogers on bass and Deshawn \u201cD-Vibes\u201d Alexander on piano and Hammond B-3 organ.<\/p>\n

The Clarksdale, Mississippi, native said he hopes to share with audience members at Charlottesville\u2019s Jefferson Theater during Thursday night\u2019s show the same kind of soaring energy that the live album documents. It\u2019s all part of bringing a memorable show every time.<\/p>\n

When asked what makes for a great night on stage, Ingram kept it straightforward<\/p>\n

\u201cWe like to take our listeners on a journey,\u201d Ingram told The Daily Progress. \u201cWhen the crowd is really receiving it well, we try to take the listeners on a journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLive in London\u201d captured \u201cthe show as it is, top to bottom,\u201d said Ingram, who spoke shortly after returning home from a high-energy South American tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was wonderful. We had a packed house everywhere,\u201d he said. \u201cRio was great.\u201d<\/p>\n

All three of Ingram\u2019s albums to date \u2014 \u201cKingfish,\u201d \u201c662\u201d and \u201cLive from London,\u201d all on Alligator Records \u2014 were nominated for Grammy Awards, and \u201c662\u201d took home the Grammy for best contemporary blues album. Two songs on the live album, \u201cMidnight Heat\u201d and \u201cMississippi Night,\u201d were new originals, and others were fan favorites from his previous albums, including \u201cShe Calls Me Kingfish,\u201d \u201cHard Times,\u201d \u201c662\u201d and \u201cLong Distance Woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

The guitarist said he\u2019d enjoy recording another live album in the future, but some studio album projects already are ahead of it in line. Ingram has been in Los Angeles recently getting a head start on material and finalizing plans for a studio album.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got my own studio as well, and I\u2019m going to the studio tonight,\u201d Ingram said.<\/p>\n

While deciding which songs to perform or record, Ingram said, \u201cIt\u2019s the old-fashioned answer. It makes me feel something. Great lyrics. Great chord progression.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ingram said he looks forward to returning to Charlottesville, where he previously performed in 2019 and 2022.<\/p>\n
