Fraser Forster has acted as Spurs\u2019 number two this season, filling in for Guglielmo Vicario while the Italian has been sidelined with an ankle injury. However, the 36-year-old is\u00a0expected to leave Tottenham\u00a0at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

That would leave Brandon Austin \u2013\u00a0who looked promising\u00a0in the 2-1 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (4 January), and brand new signing Anton\u00edn Kinsk\u00fd fighting it out for the number two position.<\/p>\n

However, ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final with the Reds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday (8 January), Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham \u2013 speaking exclusively to\u00a0Tottenham News\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 has suggested the North London club should sign Liverpool shot-stopper Kelleher this month, despite already signing Kinsk\u00fd.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there was a plan to get a genuine alternative to Vicario in the summer, then those plans should be brought forward,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Wenham said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club have got the money to do it now. Therefore, I don\u2019t understand why they wouldn\u2019t. Those in control need to realise the significance of the situation we are in and spend some money.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, it looks as though Kelleher might be available this summer, with Giorgi Mamardashvili due to arrive at the club and Alisson likely to stick around. Therefore, go and sign him now, pay the money.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Tottenham to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimh\u00edn Kelleher?<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n

If Kelleher is going to leave Anfield, which is a likely possibility considering the competition for places on Merseyside, Tottenham should absolutely\u00a0put themselves forward.<\/p>\n

Kelleher has impressed every time he has played for the Reds and is more than deserving of a first-team spot at a big Premier League club, and Ange Postecoglou would no doubt benefit from the Irishman\u2019s potential arrival.<\/p>\n

And although he could be signed as a backup, some might argue that the 26-year-old would actually be a better option than Vicario based on recent form.<\/p>\n
