Clark shined in her first WNBA season, winning Rookie of the Year and established herself as a top-tier player. The first choice in the draft finished the regular season with an astounding 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while also leading the assists list with an average of 8.4.<\/p>\n
She not only topped all rookies in scoring, but also helped the Indiana Fever reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Clark and Reese became WNBA All-Stars in their rookie seasons.<\/p>\n
Despite a wrist injury that ended Reese’s season, the former LSU great had a fantastic run.<\/p>\n
Reese, a 22-year-old rookie, dominated rebounding with an average of 13.1 boards per game and scored the second-highest average (13.6 points per game) after Clark.<\/p>\n
To maintain their rivalry, Reese sought advice from Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade on her Unapologetically Angel podcast to improve her game. Wade advised, “I saw moments where you did the next step, it’s just about doing it more. You have it. Now,<\/p>\n
Reese spoke openly about the difficulties of adjusting to the game, saying, “That’s the toughest thing; I think people don’t realize that when you enter the game, you’re so used to the things that work for you, that are easy for you.<\/p>\n
That’s why the most difficult thing for me is being able to walk into a game and simply take the shots that I practice.”<\/p>\n
