The Michigan Wolverines won the national championship in the 2023-2024 season but slipped to the middle of the Big Ten pack in 2024-2025.
Coach Sherrone Moore’s season did not go as planned, but it was capped off with wins over Ohio State and Alabama to end the season as his team finally flexed its full potential.
Meanwhile, the Big Ten surpassed the SEC as the best conference in the eyes of many college football fans, culminating with Ohio State’s national title, the second from a Big Ten team in as many years.
On Friday, word broke that the Wolverines had secured a transfer portal pledge from one a two-year SEC starter who could be in the mix for playing time from day one on coach Moore’s team.
Missouri Tigers punter Luke Bauer agreed to join the Wolverines as a transfer player according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports and CBS Sports.
Zenitz and colleague Chris Hummer uncovered the news before Zenitz shared it on his X account Friday along with a locker room picture of the Tigers punter.
Bauer stands 6-feet, 5 inches tall and is a native of Saint Louis.
He averaged 41.8 and 41.9 yards per punt during his only two college seasons, both of them with coach Eliah Drinkwitz’s team in Columbia, Missouri.
