He described the University of Michigan, which has won the Joe Moore prize twice, as a “appealing” school. Cantwell also stated that he will stop recruiting for a while after making several visits to digest everything he has seen thus far.Cantwell attended NIxa High School in Nixa, Missouri. He guided his team to a 13-1 record and a long run through the state playoffs before falling short of a state championship. He is widely regarded as the best player in the 2026 class, and he has claimed that he will restrict his list of around 30 offers to a smaller group in the following weeks.
