Texas transfer tight end Amari Niblack is scheduled to visit Texas A&M this weekend, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. In 2023, the former Top 100 overall prospect caught 20 passes and scored four touchdowns for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He made five catches with the Longhorns in 2024.
While he played infrequently this season, Niblack made some significant plays during his tenure at Alabama. He joined the Crimson Tide program after being regarded as a four-star recruit and the No. 3 tight end in the USA for the class of 2022 by On3 Industry Rankings.
Niblack appeared in 24 games and started five for Alabama over two seasons. He was a reliable receiving option for Alabama in 2023, catching 20 receptions for 327 yards with four touchdowns.
Niblack had hoped to play a significant role in the Texas offense this season, but that did not materialize. Now he’s back on the transfer site, looking for a position where he can make a significant contribution.
On3 rated him a five-star recruit right out of high school. In 2021, Sports Illustrated named him an All-American.
FloridaHSFootball.com named Niblack to its 4A all-state first team as a utility player. He appeared in 13 games, catching 60 passes for 939 yards and ten touchdowns his final year. He was an outstanding athlete and basketball player for the Spartans.
