Timothy West, who was married to fellow actor Prunella Scales for 61 years, has died aged 90, his family said.
He was known for starring in TV sitcoms including Not Going Out with Lee Mack, soaps Coronation Street and EastEnders, and drama Bleak House.
Timothy is survived by his wife of 61 years Prunella Scales, an actor who featured in Fawlty Towers.
The pair were followed in 10 seasons of Channel 4’s Great Canal Journeys, where they travelled on a narrowboat – including on the Kennet and Avon Canal in Wiltshire.
Timothy and Prunella were often spotted enjoying a drink at The Bridge Inn at Horton and regularly spoke with local lockkeepers in the Devizes area.

In a statement, his children, Juliet, Samuel and Joseph, wrote: “After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our darling father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. He was 90 years old.
Tim was with friends and family at the end. He leaves his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
