Coco Gauff made sweet potato pie for her guests on her first Thanksgiving in her new house, as the 2023 US Open winner welcomed her inner circle to her Florida property just weeks after winning the WTA Finals.
Located in Delray Beach, about 52 miles north of Miami, the property provides her with significantly more flexibility in terms of training alternatives and scheduling, and it paid off immediately when she defeated Zheng Qinwen to win the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia on November 9.
So she’s planning to celebrate “Friendsgiving,” which is similar to Thanksgiving but for friends to gather around instead of family, on November 25th, and she did so by making a treat for them.
“Made sweet potato pie for the first time,” Gauff wrote on Instagram. The 20-year-old also stated, “I’m always gonna be the older cousin that invites herself to the tiktok.”
Gauff thinks on banana bread blunders
Her cooking skills have improved one year after she chose to create banana bread for her friends and family, and she now enjoys salmon teriyaki bowls and spaghetti with chicken.
And she is tremendously motivated to improve her cooking skills after admitting that the banana bread did not turn out as well as she had intended.
“The bananas were like, too ripe, because you’re supposed to wait,” Gauff remarked, reflecting on her efforts. “I guess I waited too long, so I threw them out.
