Michigan’s football program has used the transfer portal to find a new long snapper for 2025.
Trent Middleton of UCLA confirmed his commitment to the Wolverines on Thursday through a social media post.
“Beyond blessed to say I have committed to the University of Michigan,” he said, along with a visual of himself in a Wolverines uniform.
The California native did not play in any games during his first two seasons at UCLA and has three years of eligibility remaining. Kohl’s Kicking rated him as a five-star prospect and the No. 7 long snapper in the nation for the 2023 recruiting class.
William Wagner, the nation’s finest long snapper and a Patrick Mannelly Award nominee, will exhaust his NCAA eligibility in 2024, leaving an opportunity at long snapper for Michigan.
Middleton, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 230 pounds, is Michigan’s 11th transfer this cycle.
