Former Miami wide receiver Isaiah Horton has committed to Alabama, adding a key element to its 2025 transfer class. The news was first reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Horton appeared in 29 games during his three seasons with the Hurricanes, catching 70 passes for 790 yards and six scores. By far his most productive season came in fall, when he caught 56 passes for 616 yards and five touchdowns in one of the country’s best passing systems.
After redshirting his first year in Coral Gables, he will have two years of eligibility left.
Horton was a four-star recruit from Murfreesboro (Tennessee) Oakland in the Class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four major recruiting media firms. He was the state’s No. 12 overall prospect, the No. 54 wide receiver, and the No. 337 overall prospect in the class.
Crimson Tide is seeking to rebuild its stable of receivers.
With Horton on board, Kalen DeBoer and company add another excellent playmaker for whoever wins the Tide’s starting quarterback job next year.
Leading receivers Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams, who was a breakout star in college football as a true freshman, are slated to return next season. During the regular season, the duo combined for 91 catches, over 1,500 receiving yards, and ten touchdowns.
Josh Cuevas, a junior tight end who made 15 catches in reserve, is also expected to return. The Tide will need some more reinforcements, as wideouts Caleb Odom, Kobe Prentice, and Kendrick Law have all entered the transfer portal after combining for 28 receptions this season.
Alabama could be breaking in a new quarterback alongside its improved passing attack, as junior quarterback Jalen Milroe is still deciding whether to return or pursue the NFL draft. If Milroe leaves, backups Ty Simpson and Austin Mack will fight for the starting role, as will true freshman Keelon Russell.
