The Oregon Ducks have their first addition in the transfer portal, and it’s a major one.
Purdue safety Dillon Thieneman announced his commitment to the Ducks on Saturday. The sophomore was the top safety available in the portal and a four-star transfer prospect according to 247Sports’ rankings.
Thieneman had 107 tackles — fourth among all players in the Big Ten — and seven pass breakups for the Boilermakers this season, among the best secondary players in the conference despite the team’s struggles. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Thieneman will join the Ducks next season and likely play a key role in an Oregon secondary that is losing seniors Tysheem Johnson and Kobe Savage.
