While the Indiana Fever’s season has come to a close, Caitlin Clark is still making headlines. The 22-year-old first appeared in an NFL preseason game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals in August. And now, the ROTY has been spotted again during an NFL game.This time, she’s with her best friend from the Fever locker room. This surprised CC supporters because she had only recently declared a desire to play golf but had suddenly switched to football.
Clark was spotted in the stands on Sunday, enjoying the Colts’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Scott Agness, a Fever reporter, tweeted a photo of Clark, her boyfriend Connor McCaffery, and teammate Lexie Hull as spectators cheering for the Indiana-based squad.
The game took place at Lucas Oil Stadium, and Clark’s name and image appeared on the big screen. The Indiana star was soon on television, waving to her admirers as McCaffery and Hull applauded.
Meanwhile, fans appear to be enthusiastically cheering for Clark. This was not her first appearance in an NFL game.
The Colts’ single-season assists leader was previously seen in an August preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. McCaffery, her lover and the Indiana Pacers’ assistant at the time, was also present.
Perhaps her encouragement contributed to the Colts’ 21-13 victory over the Cardinals. At the time, it drew many comparisons to Taylor Swift, who had been the center of attention at football games owing to her romance with Travis Kelce.
Clark, however, dismissed the comparisons. And now that she has returned to cheer for the Indianapolis club, it may help them win the game. As of now, the game appears to be one-sided, with the Colts scoring 17 points to the Steelers’ 3.
And, like last time, Clark’s wizardry could help the Colts win the game. She also credits her Indiana heritage. Clark has been a staunch supporter of Indiana since being drafted as the Fever’s first pick.
Her partner, McCaffery, was previously an assistant with the Pacers and has since taken a job offer with the Butler Bulldogs, who are also situated in Indiana.
But has the point guard, who was supposed to spend her offseason on the greens, truly switched sports? Caitlin Clark expressed her interest in sports.
Growing u and p Clark attended Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, where he participated in multiple sports. She played soccer for two seasons in high school, scoring 26 goals in only six games during her freshman year.
Clark’s father acknowledged that if she had pursued the sport, she would have been as skilled and popular as she is now in basketball.
However, in order to focus on one sport, Clark had to give up soccer after two seasons. Her desire to be a two-sport athlete, however, remained unabated.
So, when the Fever were knocked out of the playoffs by the Connecticut Sun, Clark was asked about her off-season plans. Clark denied moving overseas to generate more money and revealed that she would love to play golf.
The number one pick in the 2024 WNBA draft stated that she had not given much thought to the offseason because she had focused her efforts on getting Indiana deep into the playoffs. When her goal was destroyed, she joked about trying to “become a professional golfer.”
I’m not sure what I’ll do tomorrow or the next day. Perhaps play some golf. That’s what I’ll do till it gets too cold in Indiana. So, I got it. Clark concluded, “I will become a professional golfer.”
