CSKA to Offload Goalkeeper This Summer

CSKA’s management has reportedly made a crucial decision regarding their goalkeeping roster, opting to part ways with either Gustavo Busato or Ivan Dyulgerov. According to information obtained by Tema Sport, the club is looking to streamline its options between the posts ahead of the new season. This move comes as they aim to consolidate their goalkeeping position, making a clear choice for their top custodian.
The “Army” leadership has reportedly settled on Fyodor Lapouhov, a winter transfer, as their undisputed “number one” goalkeeper. With Lapouhov now firmly established as the primary choice, the club believes it’s unnecessary to retain two other experienced goalkeepers as backups. Consequently, CSKA will actively seek to sell either Busato or Dyulgerov during the upcoming summer transfer window. If a sale cannot be facilitated, the club is prepared to terminate the contract of one of them. It’s worth noting that Busato had only renewed his contract last summer, around the same time Dyulgerov, a Bulgarian international, was also brought into the squad.
An interesting twist in this situation is that both Busato and Dyulgerov were reportedly given assurances by the previous club directors at “Borisova Gradina” (CSKA’s stadium) that they would be considered the first-choice goalkeeper. These conflicting promises understandably led to tension and disruptions within the team’s training processes. Such internal friction can often hinder team cohesion and performance, highlighting the importance of clear communication from management.
Adding to the complexity, Tema Sport also reports that one of the two goalkeepers (though unnamed) incurred the wrath of the club’s management due to disciplinary violations. This suggests that the decision to potentially part ways might not solely be based on sporting considerations or the desire to simplify the goalkeeping hierarchy, but also on issues related to professional conduct. Disciplinary matters can significantly impact a player’s standing within a club, even if they possess considerable experience.
Ultimately, CSKA is aiming to create a clearer structure for their goalkeeping department as they prepare for the next campaign. While Lapouhov is set to take the leading role, the club is actively seeking a resolution for either Busato or Dyulgerov, with the goal of optimizing their squad while potentially addressing past internal issues. This summer will be crucial in defining CSKA’s goalkeeping lineup moving forward.
