According to a new claim from The Detroit News, Detroit Lions head football coach Dan Campbell’s home location was disclosed on Snapchat by Campbell’s daughter’s high school classmate.
According to the allegation, several enraged supporters gathered outside Campbell’s home in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, on January 28, hours after the Lions lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game.
A police inquiry performed by local authorities following the event revealed that Campbell’s address had been posted online by a male high school classmate of Campbell’s daughter. The student shared Campbell’s address on Snapchat with the description, “Dumb f— trying to go for it.”
The police were contacted after Campbell’s daughter informed Campbell and his wife, Holly, that individuals were arriving at their home. Holly Campbell had joined Dan to San Francisco for the NFC championship game.
Investigators advised Campbell and his wife that the doxxing of the Lions coach’s home address did not fulfil the requirements for criminal charges.
Following the event, the Campbells moved out of their Bloomfield Township home.
The Lions improved to 2-1 on the season after defeating the Arizona Cardinals 20-13 on Sunday. On September 30, they will host the Seattle Seahawks for Monday Night Football.
