Cook signed with UW on January 7, 10 days after announcing his commitment outside of the portal. Nakos said that he was on campus for about 48 hours before the decision was taken to part ways. Washington Athletics refuses to comment to newssoccer.uk on the subject.
Cook spent two years at Texas before entering the transfer portal on December 9. He played in six games this season, collecting 137 yards and two touchdowns before departing the program, according to Eric Nahlin of Inside Texas. As a freshman in 2023, he has eight receptions for 136 yards in 14 appearances for Texas. He’ll have two years of eligibility left.

Cook was a five-star football prospect at DeSoto (TX) High School. He was the No. 31 overall recruit and the No. 3 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four major recruiting media organizations.
During the transfer process, Cook garnered interest from Florida and visited Gainesville before committing to Washington. According to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings, he was the 91st overall player and the 23rd-ranked wide receiver to enter the portal this cycle.
