Joyce Meyer Obituary
She was born in Killeen, Texas on October 13, 1928 to Thomas William Ray and Ila B. Swope Ray. She spent her early life in Killeen and later school years in Salado, Texas.
Joyce married Bryce Albion Taylor in Burnet, Texas on April 8, 1950. To this union three children were born: Gregory Albion, Lisa Ray, and Celia Jane. Bryce died January 30, 1971.
She later married Norcliffe Sanford Meyer on June 26, 1976. Sadly, Nor also preceded her in death.
In addition to her children, Joyce had four beloved grandchildren: Zachary Meyer, Benjamin Meyer, Bryce A. Taylor II, and Danielle Taylor Zigmund. She was blessed to have three great grandchildren whom she adored: Wyatt Meyer, Emilia (Emme) Meyer, and Joseph (Joe) Zigmund.
Joyce is also survived by son-in-law Geoffrey, daughter-in-law Tina, stepson Norcliffe Meyer, stepdaughter Sandy Meyer, her niece Cathy Holcomb, and her three nephews Tom Roe, Tom Ray, Tim Ray and their families.
During her life, Joyce worked in banking, ran Pioneer Abstract Company in Burnet with her husband Bryce, and was a real estate developer/broker of Cassie Subdivision on Lake Buchanan and the Willows subdivision on Inks Lake. She was an avid bridge player and loved reading, gardening, dancing, music, and traveling.
Joyce wished to be remembered for her faith and her love for family, friends, her flowers, and her love of a good book. She was a long-standing member of Northwest Hills United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held at the Northwest Hills United Methodist Church in Austin at 10 a.m., December 14, 2024; followed by a private family burial service at Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
