Video shows a kayaker in Florida passing out and slipping into a major boating channel. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook on Sunday, November 10, that after his friend called for assistance after saving him from drowning in the Intracoastal Waterway, a crabber on a neighboring boat hauled them until a marine deputy from the sheriff’s office arrived.A video of the rescue was published by the agency. The friend assists in loading the entire kayak onto the rescue boat with the kayaker on top after the deputy approaches and inquires if the friend is breathing.
According to a rescuer in the video, the kayaker was unresponsive and had no pulse at the time they arrived. After receiving life-saving care from paramedics, the kayaker was transported to a hospital, where he recovered and is currently recuperating, according to the agency. In the comments, a number of people commended the team’s work. “Well done, everyone,” someone said. “Excellent illustration of teamwork and daily individuals taking the initiative.” From Orlando, Volusia County is roughly a 50-mile journey northeast.
