Kentucky basketball had to start all over in 2024. The roster completely overturned when John Calipari left for Arkansas, and Mark Pope took over as head coach. He had to hit the transfer portal to build the team, and has done it successfully, with the team ranked inside the top ten.Pope and the 2024-25 Wildcats are doing well with a 10 – 2 record, surpassing the expectations of most so far. The beginning of the Mark Pope era has been good for everyone.

For this season, Pope and his staff had to build his roster almost exclusively from veteran players. He didn’t get the chance to recruit from the 2024 class, but has been active in recruiting from the 2025 class.
So far, Pope has three commits for next year, and all of them are top 40 players ranked at least four stars. It’s a solid class, and they are hoping it get stronger. Kentucky offered 19 players in the 2025 class, and most have made decisions already, but a few are still undecided.
Kentucky already has commitments from Malachi Moreno, Jasper Johnson, and Acaden Lewis. Here’s what the other 16 players they targeted have decided, if they’re committed already.
