
Rosscup, 36, returns to the squad following a 2-1 record with a 2.42 ERA last season. He struck out 26 batters over 26 innings. In the semifinals, he improved to 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 12.2 innings pitched.
He most recently played for the Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican Baseball League, achieving a 4-2 record and 41 trin in Dominican baseball.
He previously played with the Águilas Cibaeñas during the 2019-20 season. He was Rosscup’s teammate with the Toros de Tijuana, where he had a 3.32 ERA and struck out 50 batters over 38 innings.
He also competed in Puerto Rico’s winter league, with an excellent 0.79 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 11.1 innings. He also represented Puerto Rico in the 2023 Caribbean Series.
With these two additions, Escogido now has five confirmed reinforcements for the season, which starts on October 16. The team will begin training on September 23 at the New York Yankees facilities in Boca Chica.
