Geno Smith completed 26 of 34 passes for 289 yards and one touchdown against the Dolphins. This was Metcalf’s third career receiving touchdown of at least 70 yards, tying Daryl Turner for the most in team history.
“All that matters is that we win, no matter how we do it,” Smith said, according to an Associated Press report published on ESPN.com. “I’m not really particular about that, but 3-0, it’s a great start.”
On the other hand, the Dolphins have yet another QB injury. They already lost Tua Tagovailoa to another concussion in Week 2, and backup quarterback Skylar Thompson had a chest ailment in the second half against the Seahawks.
Tim Boyle attempted to lead a comeback from a 17-3 disadvantage, but his squad was unable to succeed.
Meanwhile, with this victory, the Seahawks became the first team since the 1979 Pittsburgh Steelers to go 3-0 while limiting opponents to less than 150 passing yards. In the win, the Seahawks held Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to seven catches for 66 yards combined.
“This is such a dangerous team. You recognise the typical suspects. When they receive the ball, you have to take tremendous angles, use inside-out chase, and set the edge,” said Seahawks coach Mike MacDonald. “I think our front line played extremely hard.
